FRACTOPIA
The digital visions of Christopher Laird Simmons
A book of original digital art based on fractals, created by Christopher Laird Simmons in 1983. Artwork was used for a Cal State Long Beach (CSULB) course catalog, appeared in the citywide Bytes of Art Project in San Franciso, and used tor a CD album cover.
FUTURE PROJECTS:
- FRACTOPIA™ [new softcover print edition] (2024), by Christopher Laird Simmons. We are working on a new, more cost effective, oversize photo book edition without the costly hardcover and just jacket of the original limited edition. Layout will be a little different, not a rehash of the same format. New ISBN.
- THE ADAMA JOURNAL [new digital editions] (2024). We are working to scan all our classic fanzines, including the Battelstar Galactica fanzine from 1978, “The Adama Journal.” We’re using a library type book scanner to capture full pages with OCR of text in order to create perfect digital copies of the long out of print titles.
- GALAXY CLASS [new digital editions] (2024). As above, we working to scan all our classic fanzines, including the Star Trek: The Nxxt Generation (ST:TNG) fanzine from 1987, “Galaxy Class.”
